John 3:16
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that who-
soever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
John 3:16 is commonly interpreted to teach that God loved everybody, but the indi-
vidual must believe in order to get eternal life. The basic premise of John 3:16 is that
the “world” of John 3:16 is “all of humanity.” The second premise is that believing
is a prerequisite to eternal life and not an evidence of eternal life.
Let us look at the first premise that the “world” of John 3:16 is “all of humanity.”
Whatever the “world” of John 3:16 is, we know that it is a “world” that God so loved
that he gave his only begotten Son for.
